    • Roofs & Roof coverings: –
    •  purposes,Elements, Types, Fla, pitched.
    •  Truss-king post, queen post, mansard, bel-fast, steel, composite.
    •  Roof & coverings – objectives, types & uses.
      (18 hrs.)
TRADE PRACTICAL (Professional Skills  With Indicative Hours) :- Job no. & Name of the Practical
  • Drawing details of:-
  • 51. Slopped/Pitched Roof Truss – King Post and Queen Postroof trusses showing detailed connections. (23hrs)
  • 52. Steel roof trusses showing detailed connections. (21hrs)
  • 53. Wooden roof truss, showing detailed connections. (12hrs)

WEEK. NO. 24, 25 & 26

  1. Reference Learning Outcome :
  • Perform site survey with chain / tape and prepare site plan. (Mapped NOS: IES /N9417)
  • Perfom site survey with prismatic compass and prepare site plan. (Mapped NOS:/N9418)
  • Perform site survey with plane table and prepare a map. (Mapped NOS: IES /N9412)
  1. Duration :- Professional Skill 84 Hrs.; Professional Knowledge 18 Hrs.(for above learning out come)
TRADE THEORY (Professional Knowledge ) :- 
    • Surveying:-
    •  Introduction, History and principles of chain survey.
    •  Instrument employed.
    •  Use, care, maintenance and common terms.
    •  Classification, accuracy, types.
    •  Main divisions (plane & geodetic).
    •  Chaining.
    •  Speed in field and office work.
    •  Knowledge of Mouza Map.
      Compass survey:-
    •  Instrument and its setting up
    •  Bearing and each included angle of close traverse.
    •  Local attraction.
    •  Magnetic declination and its true bearing.
    •  Precaution in using prismatic compass.Plane table survey:-
    •  Instrument used in plane table survey
    •  Care and maintenance of plane table
      (18 hrs.)
